The inception of KTK can be traced back to 2016, when guitarists Aditya Swaminathan and Rishikesh Dharap were exchanging some ideas and decided to combine their influences to form an outfit that best catered to the style of music they were looking to create. Fast forward a few years later, the timing was perfect. Starting out by writing a few tracks and looking for like minded and talented musicians-in 2021 the first line up was finalized. This included Saurabh Lodha on bass, Akarsh Singh on drums and Pritam Adhikary on vocals. A few months later, Rahul Singh replaced Akarsh to take on the role as the drummer, and has been playing with KTK ever since.
The entire premise that the band revolves around- from the lyrics to the very name- is to stand up against any form of injustice or oppression- as will be demonstrated through the self- titled debut album. The "king" in KTK can represent anything that acts as an oppressive authority in today's society, and the lyrics are representative of the people who want to fight this oppressor. Each of the songs tackles one or more issues centered around this premise. The band likes to highlight and question all that they feel is damaging today's society and encourages the urge to fight back. This anger, pain & aggression is expressed through unrelenting, fast paced guitars, gut wrenching drums, thumping bass lines and powerful soaring vocals.
